2018 We had a wonderful stay at Delettes. It has everything you need - for all age groups. The 'teenagers' in our party loved the table tennis, badminton, the pool (the temperature was lovey), the large garden and the tennis courts/petanque, as did we. The equipment in the kitchen was also great and the farmhouse is very comfortable. The showers and bathrooms met the needs of our party and are very good. The information and maps, in the house, on the local area were extensive and so very helpful in planning what to do each day, especially all the war monuments. You have basically thought of everything. Thank you for a wonderful stay. NH August 2018 |

We had a great time at the farmhouse. Our party was 5 adults and two children (both boys, 7 and 10). The boys absolutely loved the pool. Spent hours in it which kept at least one adult busy at a time! They also enjoyed running around in the garden and using the other child friendly equipment available, most of which can be used rain or shine. We had good weather so not an issue but blooming useful if it did rain. The adults enjoyed the gardens, being able to relax in the loungers, having parasols to shade the sun and tables where we could eat both sides of the house. It's just such a lovely setting and, when you lock the barn doors you know the kids have free range to play anywhere in the grounds and remain safe. Good for them and us.
The kitchen had all we needed, and we used it often. There was more than enough crockery and glasses for an army and the house was comfortable as were the beds. Enough toilets and showers for us all without the need to queue. Plenty to do in the surrounding area with shops not far away. It's a great, relaxing place to stay. Although some of the hills were a bit hard to cycle up! All in all, a great place to spend time in. We'll be back again so hang on to the deposit as I'll shortly be confirming next year's date. Is it possible to pencil in same week next year? PS August 2018 As we opened the gates we were amazed at the property's size and space, set in a lovely garden. Accommodation was very clean and comfortable with showers and loos aplenty. Weather hot and sunny so the swimming pool was much appreciated. PG June 2018 We had a great time. The weather was pretty good considering the time year and we made the most out of the outside space. We all have young kids and it was really lovely to just sit in the garden and not worry about anything. Its a great enclosed safe space for kids. We definitely want to go back.SL May 2018 Spent a very relaxed & comfortable 8 nights at the farmhouse. On this trip we had 4 generation of the family and we all enjoyed the facilities the farmhouse offers. The security of the property is ideal for children to play safely & the courtyard is a fantastic sun trap and we spent a couple of afternoons admiring the floral displays while enjoying long lunches of local cheese & wines. ... a trip to Dennly's theme park 4 miles up the road and he was happy, the park is perfect for younger children & not expensive. Great holiday and managed to get a day in the pool. RG May 2018 Just a 3 hour drive for us including the tunnel so it was very easy to feel away from home with minimal travel. The farmhouse has a very special feel as it has been a much loved family home and the owners have deliberately left photos and guides so guests can share in the renovation journey. There is plenty of space for all generations - we had 11 of us including teens and primary age. The house was spotlessly clean with fresh sheets and towels and all the required sundries so we only needed our own clothes. he children didn't go near their electronic devices all week - fascinated by the record player and the VHS tapes! ... They made good use of the basketball court across the street. The farmhouse is wonderfully private because of the enclosed courtyard. There are plenty of chairs and we used the BBQ and fire basket - even in April. The local supermarket stocked everything we needed and any visitor MUST get their fresh milk from Anne-Marie the house keeper - delicious! We would definitely recommend this as a base for an easy family retreat. WL April 2018 2017 It's been great at the farmhouse. All in all brilliant and everyone had a great time. JC (UK) March 2017 It was a pleasure to stay at the beautiful farmhouse at Delettes. We enjoyed it very much and it was wonderful for our little kids. Everything was in order (thanks to Anne-Marie) and we would like to come again later on. In the mean time we have already recommend it to our friends and family and on Trip Advisor. RP (Belgium) April 2017 Tout s'est très bien passé. Nous avons passé un très bon weekend, c'était parfait comme toujours. Nous reviendrons. merci pour tout. KL (France) May 2017 We are about to leave. We had a lovely time at your farmhouse, with sunny, dry weather, far better than forecast. We all had a great time and the pool was used on both days. Thanks again. GH (UK) June 2017 We've been going to France for over 40 years but always driven through Northern France on our way further South. So would this work for three generations of our family - 6 adults and two children under 10? You bet it did! The Farmhouse was just great with huge garden and the pool the kids just loved. The improvement in their swimming skills was an additional benefit. Water was always nice and comfortable. House was a lovely (v large) size and four bedrooms perfect for us. So much room. Play room and play area in the barn was a bonus. You could certainly remain in the confines of this property and shut off the world if you wanted to. But that would mean you miss the beauty of the rolling hills and many attractions within a 45 minute drive. So much to do and Menin Gate at 8pm is a very moving experience . Delettes is not in a commercial area with loads of Brits but that was a bonus to us. Everything you need is in the house with a good supermarket ten minutes away. Who could ask for more? Highly recommended but don't book next August cos I think we might well be returning. LP July 2017 We stayed here with another family with young children - so there were 10 of us in total, with six kids aged 5 - 14. There was plenty of space for all of us and the kids always had plenty to do - swimming pool well heated, games room etc. This meant we could spend plenty of time relaxing at the farmhouse, while also venturing out to see various sights. JS Aug 2017 A really relaxing time at Delettes, farmhouse was everything we hoped for and adults and children had a great time, especially in the pool! PS Aug 2017 The farmhouse is absolutely beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. The wow factor starts when you swing back the enormous double gates to catch first sight of the courtyard, with its fig tree centrepiece, and house with its huge blue window shutters. Do read the book about the family's devoted restoration of the place over many years. It gives you a real affinity to share the love they have invested in it. It was the best equipped place we have ever stayed in. The number of activities available meant the kids were always occupied which took the pressure off us. We actually got to read our books for the first time in ages. The pool was amazing and we loved the table tennis. It rained for several days but that didn't matter at all because there was so much to do, There was everything we needed and more in the kitchen - so good (and unusual) to have sharp knives for cooking and great pans. Cooking basics were there already - oils, vinegars, spices etc - and I used soft fruit and herbs from the garden. The files of information and well thought out and walks were brilliant. It felt like staying in the home of good and thoughtful friends. We went out when it rained and drank hot chocolate under an awning in a cafe and watched a storm. The rain didn't bother us at all. We had planned a holiday without screens and we stuck to it easily as so much was taken care of for us. We went out on day trips though, it being August, northern France had pretty much closed down and the kids spent the whole time begging to go back to the house anyway. Le Touquet is a lovely resort but very expensive with the £/€ as it is - we had to shop around to find Croque Monsieurs for less than 10 Euros each - with 7 kids, we paid with a sharp intake of breath and upset the waiter by ordering only tap water for the kids. It was generally fabulous, beautifully clean, more spacious, elegant and welcoming than it had even looked online and we all had the most perfect break. As it is just 40 minutes from Calais we avoided a long journey with overexcited children and arrived relaxed. Anne Marie was a great hostess and clearly takes enormous pride in the place. Lovely to see her helping with the renovation in the log. We would absolutely recommend your lovely farmhouse to friends and family and hope to return. JS Aug 2017 Thank you we had a lovely time. All 3 generations enjoyed the space and amenities provided. Anne- Marie was very helpful. We had three hot sunny days to enjoy the pool and the beautiful garden. The boys enjoyed the games area playing badminton and going on the trampoline on the rainy days. Having been to this area a few times, we had a few trips out to Saint Omer as the boys wanted to go back to the park, and new places such Arras to see the Wellington Tunnels. It is a lovely house in a beautiful area. SB Aug 2017 We stayed at the Farmhouse in Delettes for a special birthday weekend and it was everything that we wished for ... and more!!! The house is super equipped and well set up for families in mind. Our family of 5 rattled around in the property. We could totally relax knowing the children were safe and secure in the grounds, we ate in the beautiful courtyard and played in the ample sized garden. We visited La Bagatelle theme park for a fun day out and would also recommend that for any families; it's a bit quirky but caters for all ages of children. Would highly recommend the Farmhouse; all of my family have asked when are we going back and can we go for longer. Perfect family escape! DHW Sept 2017 2016 When our family group of 6 adults and three young children arrived for our second stay at the farmhouse for our early summer holiday we all felt at home again immediately. It was as welcoming and clean as our visit last year and we quickly made use of the fantastic pool and garden games and toys. This year we even managed to find time to play some grown-up games and had fun in the family room playing table tennis. Once again we had a thoroughly relaxing, trouble-free week in this amazing holiday home which is set in the most gorgeous countryside village, yet is so accessible to all the varied attractions which a family of our size crave. Thank you again Nick for being so accommodating when we had to change our dates. We hope to be back again in the not too distant future. KL Mai 2016 Recently returned from a special week at the farmhouse; it certainly lives up to its 5 star rating on TripAdvisor. I went with a group of friends to celebrate retirement/birthday and we could not have chosen a better venue. Very handy for the Channel Tunnel, but tucked in a typical French village among stunning countryside. Easy to find, the Farmhouse is a real home from home; not a typical sterile holiday let, but a family home given over to likeminded guests. Really, really enjoyed the pool (warm temperature unexpected for early June!) and the seclusion of the garden. Could see also how this would be a great venue for families as obviously child friendly. JG June 2016 This was out second holiday at the Delettes farmhouse and it was just as good as we remembered. Villages only 45 mins drive from Calais, during our 10 night stay we visited Boulogne, Le Touquet, Ghent, Ypres all are very accessible from Delettes. Farmhouse is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday, the owners have thought of and provided everything. We took our 30 months old grandson with us, the grounds are perfect for children to play safely and again all toys, games and activities are provided. If you're looking for a peaceful, clean, comfortable holiday in France, you wouldn't be disappointed with everything the Delettes farmhouse has to offer. RG July 2016 Just wanted to say what a fabulous holiday we had, the farmhouse has everything you could ever need. The children loved the pool and games room. The whole outside area was so secure for the dogs. There were so many peaceful places to sit. A fun time was had by all, we are definitely looking at booking it for next summer!! DG July 2016 We had a fabulous stay at the farmhouse and everything was just perfect! We were amazed by the facilities, space and all the extra games, toys, equipment etc. that you provide. The weather was kind - only 3 overcast days and only 1 with any real rain and even on those days we managed to spend most of the day outside. The rest of the time we were sunning ourselves by the pool! We particularly loved the photo album which documented the years since you bought the farmhouse. I honestly cannot offer any piece of criticism or suggestion for improvement because everything was fantastic. We will definitely be booking to visit again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay. ERD family group Aug 2016 2015 Having failed to find accommodation for 11 in South East England at Easter we checked the ferry prices and found that a car and 5 passengers could visit France for £58 return. We then quickly found the farmhouse at Delettes which is less than an hour of easy driving from the tunnel or ferry port. The oldest of our group was 62 and the youngest our grand-daughter of 6 weeks, there were 3 teenagers. Everyone had a great time because there was lots of space so while a group of 7 were playing table tennis (in a circle running round the table with 7 bats) in the games room the baby was being fed in the lounge and a couple were in the kitchen preparing a meal. The courtyard and garden were brilliant for an Easter Egg hunt, no worries about children going missing as the whole property is secured by eight foot high gates. The courtyard is protected from the wind on all sides so with the sun shining it felt like July rather than April. Everyone was sorry the holiday had to end and all are hoping to be back next year. RL April 2015 This was our first venture into an all age group family holiday (with our grown-up children, their spouses, and our grandchildren - one toddler under 2, the second under 3 and an 8 week old baby). If we hadn't got the accommodation exactly right it could have been a disaster! I booked The Farmhouse at Delettes firstly owing to its proximity to Calais and secondly because it seemed to offer the ideal accommodation and security for our three generation family group. The other factor which influenced my decision was the fact there were so many positive reviews. We were not disappointed. When we opened the huge entrance gates on arrival and drove into the courtyard we just gasped, and I knew we were in for a good holiday. On first looking round the property, my concern about how clean everything would be was quickly dispelled - everything was spotless. Clean bathrooms, nice bedding, pillows/mattresses, and a clean cooker are all pointers, in my opinion, that the property is well cared for and looked after properly. As many reviewers have said, the property is just perfect size-wise for family get-togethers, be it dining, playing garden games, playing games in the barn, sitting reading or playing table tennis in the family room or just seeking the quiet of the sitting room for a bit of peace (which we elders needed quite often!). There are so many attractions to interest all age groups within a half hour or so drive from the farmhouse that we had a job to decide whether we wanted to go out or stay put each day. There is such an amazing assortment of things to do both inside and outside the farmhouse to keep everyone occupied, that we were spoilt for choice. I can honestly say that we have never before considered re-booking a holiday rental for a second time, but we all agreed that we wanted to return next year - because the whole property worked so well for us. Thank you Nick and family, a lovely home-from-home, well managed, and Anne-Marie for making me laugh when I couldn't hear myself think. CB June 2015 Our 35th visit was a painless journey despite any misgivings about strikes in Calais. The farmhouse, courtyard and garden looked absolutely lovely. Our eldest grandson and our youngest granddaughter chose to come with us for a few days under their own steam. They have been visiting Delettes all their lives and their love of it has continued into their late teens and early twenties. The cherries were lovely. We will return in September and hope to sample some figs. ADK July 2015 As promised just a few words about our holiday, although I am at a loss as to how to put the experience into words. Wonderfully relaxing, it was everything we were lead to expect. The grandchildren enjoyed the freedom of a secure environment to play in, that's when we could get them out of the pool, we adults just chilled out and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Anne Marie came and went during our fortnight, but was unobtrusive and didn't disturb us so our thanks to her. Would heartily recommend a stay at the farmhouse to anyone looking for peace and quiet. The only down-side, according to my sons-in-law, was that there no longer appeared to be any bars in the village. However the Carrefour in Therouanne was well stocked with beer and wine, and at reasonable prices, and provided basic items which we augmented by buying the local produce at the numerous local markets, and if we were bulk shopping the trip to Auchan wasn't too onerous. All in all a wonderful holiday. Our thanks to you for providing such a pleasant location to spend it. IG Aug 2015 This was our third stay at the farmhouse and it continues to both improve and delight. It was lovely to return this year and it felt like coming home, there really is everything you could wish for, Nick and Penny have given a great deal of thought to everyone's needs and as such the property really does cater for all ages. We have a young family (6 & 4) and they loved the freedom and absolute safety that is on offer, the huge play barn, the courtyard, games barn and luscious garden. We loved eating fresh figs, apples and greengages from the trees and Anne-Marie brought us fresh milk, eggs and butter from the farm throughout our stay. For our first week we were joined by one set of grandparents and for the second the other set and another family friend, so we were a mixed bag in terms of ages and needs but everyone agreed it was idyllic. The countryside around the farmhouse is stunning and fabulous for runners and walkers alike. This really is a wonderful property and I'm sure we'll return many times over! RM Aug 2015 I've lost count of the amount of times I have visited the farmhouse, both with family and friends. Ever year it just gets better. Picnics in the rear garden, a few glasses of wine in the courtyard - all in the beautiful surroundings of the farmhouse. The house has everything we need and once again we had a lovely relaxing time.
