The Captain's House (sleeps 2-4)The Captain’s house has two floors and a roof terrace with an extra kitchen for roof top living. The entrance from the street is across a gated bridge over the path to the lower terrace. The house is up a slope 75 yards from the road and is reached on foot up a slope from the village square. There is parking about 100 yards away and free parking 5 minutes away behind the beach. Access to the first floor bedroom and roof terrace is by a staircase which is narrow and may not be suitable for some people. There is constant hot water and all house linen is provided, but we ask you to bring your own beach towels. Although you are unlikely to need them, air conditioning and heating are available in both the bedroom and living room.
The front door opens into a large living area with an ensuite shower and WC. There is a double sofa-bed, a dining table and chairs, and a built-in cupboard with drawers and hanging space. At one end of the room there is a fully equipped kitchen area with sink, electric hob, combination microwave and oven, fridge, kettle, coffee maker. For entertainment there is a selection of books and a TV with DVD player. A door opens into a small lobby with stairs to the next floor where there is a large bedroom with a double bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and ensuite shower, basin and WC.
The stairs continue up to a large roof terrace with panoramic views over the marina, the ocean, along the coast and inland up the valley to the mountains. There is an electrically operated roof opening, a retractable awning for shade during the day if you want it, and electric lights for evening dining. There is a barbecue and two folding dining tables and chairs, as well as a small kitchen with an electric hob plus dishwasher, sink, fridge, and a separate set of plates, glasses, mugs and cutlery for ease of enjoying outdoor living on your rooftop. There is also a storage area with a washing machine in the large cupboard. | |
